Roanna McLeod
Co-founder / Writer / Adventure-Seeker
Being part of only a two-person team, both Roanna and Nicola wear many different hats for Chasing Her Smile, creative and otherwise. As well as Co-founding Chasing Her Smile and writing and curating the content for her own articles, Roanna is the in-house marketing expert – having worked in both in-house and consultancy positions on opposite sides of the globe (in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom). Though she has now changed her career path, having gained a master’s degree in economics, Roanna is still deeply passionate about writing, a love which she discovered early during her career in marketing, communications and event management.
In her spare time, Roanna co-runs Great Places for a Cup of Tea with her partner Shane: a page designed to inspire people to get out and explore by showcasing the amazing sights on offer beyond our doorsteps. She is a keen hiker, a (very) amateur rock climber, and an all-round adventure-seeker, while willingly admitting she’s still finding her feet in such pursuits. Nevertheless, in the great outdoors she has found the refuge she has long sought for her ever-active mind and introverted personality.
With her new found career direction, and particular interest in economic policies that encourage environmental protection and sustainability, and improving societal equality, Roanna hopes to use her unique set of skills and passions to forge a career and life in which she finds continued happiness and fulfilment, while having a positive tangible impact on the world around her.
